Indianapolis, is the capital of Indiana, and frankly, isn't given the credit it deserves.  It's not a large city such as Chicago or New York, but has many great aspects of these cities, but adds additional value you can't find in other larger cities.  Some of the highlights:

  • Ranked one of the most affordable places to live in the United States for well over 16 quarters.
  • You know that horrible traffic you see in California, New York, and Chicago?  You won't find that here.  You can be pretty much anywhere in the Indianapolis area within a 20-25 minute drive using the I465 interstate.
  • Food, food, and more food!  Indianapolis has always had great food, but most outside the area wasn't aware of this until we hosted the Super Bowl several years ago.  Outsiders were shocked at all the different flavors and options in downtown Indianapolis, all within walking discounts to the Colts, Pacers, shopping, and hotels.
  • Sports: For a smaller town, we have plenty of big league sports.  The Indianapolis Colts is hosted in one of the best enclosed stadiums in the nation, Lucas Oil Stadium.  The Indiana Pacers has, by many counts, the best basketball stadium in the nation at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.   While we don't have a major league baseball team, we do have the minor league Indianapolis Indians, which also is hosted in one of the nicest minor league stadiums in the nation, Victory Field.
  • As mentioned above as one of the most affordable places to live, Indianapolis housing is very affordable and many outside investors have purchased homes in the area as long term investments.
  • House taxes are reasonable and capped at 1% of the value of the home if it's a primary residence.
